Mr. Daniels- 7 alarm chili |
This was the second time we attended this wonderful event. I wasn't sure of the date this year so I checked on the web and got the number of the Hamilton County Tourist Development Council and spoke to Cindy Eatmon, who was kind to send us directions since there is a detour in that area.
The judging started at 12 and as soon as the judges were done taste testing and chatting with each contestant it was time to dig in.
There were seven tables and when you pay the five dollar entrance fee you are given your bowl. When you go to a table you can get as much or as little as you want. It's also an eat till you are full and believe me, I sure didn't need dinner that night.
The Daniels were there again- Mr. Daniels makes a 7 alarm chili and his wife's is a 4 alarm. Both were delicious.
Cindy Eatmon, the kind lady from the Hamilton County Tourist Development Council made chicken chili and I asked her to send me the recipe. I went back for seconds on that and as soon as I get that recipe it will be on the blog.
As usual I took a few photos.
Really enjoyed looking at the pictures Linda. I bet all they were all great. I love chili, and made one the other day with barley. It made so much. I hope you get the recipe for the chicken one. I have a recipe for a white chicken chili, which is good. Thanks for sharing your fun day.
ReplyDeleteHey Myra- I saw in the local paper there is going to be another one in town this weekend!
DeleteThe local VFW is doing one and it's there first one.
I remember you went to this last year-one of the chilis Gabe tried made him sweat as I recall. What a fun outing you guys had-and a tasty one too! The first place winners won 2 years in a row? They know the secret to a great chili I guess...congratulations to them! They had quite the variety available too-something for all the chili lovers.
ReplyDeleteEggs in chili huh? That's a new one to me.
I hope Cindy sends you the chicken chili recipe-Bob loves chili.
I didn't try the egg one, I was so full I couldn't get another bite in.
DeleteGreat photos Linda. I love chili & can't wait to see the recipe too.
ReplyDeleteI emailed her so I hope she send it. If she does you will see it. I promise!

ReplyDeleteI think my sister in law makes an 8 or more alarm chili. I know I can't eat it and I love Chili. She puts a jar of those very hot peppers in it. That's a small Jar .Seeds and all. First time I ate it my Brother laughed his behind off when I went running for something to stop the burn. I made Chili today so won't be trying this for a few weeks . But indeed I will try it.
ReplyDeleteYou know with those eggs in that chili . I would be standing downwind after someone eats that chili.; }
DeleteWow great pictures. Never seen one with eggs in it. You see something different all the time.
LOL Dottie!
DeleteLove chili too though I'd stay away from the 7 alarm one! :-) Definitely eggs in chili is different.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your great pictures, Linda.
