About Me
Hi, I'm Linda and I'm lucky to live on the east end of Long Island. I have lived on Long Island all of my life (so far) and absolutely love the area.
We also have a home in North Florida. I know, the blog states Central Florida but we sort of started out in Central and found a house that we both love in another area.
I blog because I love to cook. I also enjoy taking photos so the idea of everything going on one site works for me. I wanted a place that I could go back to and see what I made and also look back on photos I've taken.
As I get older, I'm slowly learning that everything in my life can simply be divided into two categories: things that I'm glad are a part of my life, and things I would simply like to exclude. Of course within each category, there are varying degrees when it comes to how strongly I feel about certain things, and of course some things can move back and forth between categories! Things like Korean Dramas and knowing where my glasses are... these all rank way, way up in the "glad to have it" category. And in the same breath, lack of sleep, well that is clearly stuff I'd love to do without. I really want to love honeydews, but I've never ever been able to pick a good one!!!
Have a big Faith. Expect big things and you will get big things.

Nice! I am lucky enough to live on Long Island as well!! (Especially in the summertime!!) ;)
ReplyDeleteSo far it sure hasn't been beach weather!
DeleteThanks for stopping by and hope to see you again
So glad to find your blog. I grew up on the Island (Nassau County girl) and now call Jacksonville Florida home. Go Jags!
ReplyDeleteSusan
We are about an hour and a half west of you in the center of Florida.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and hope to see you again.
Linda, I found you! Thank you so much for visiting me and leaving a sweet note after the passing of our golden Mikey. It is still hard, but getting easier. We forget sometimes and half way expect him to appear in the drive as we pullin. Or trot to the kitchen when I open the refrigerator door. And he was the best crumb snatcher around. I have to pick up my own stray Cheerios now. I will still post about Goldens some, as my brother has two. One is older...and developing mobility issues. But the two year old is full of spirit still. Plus...I keep track of the Turkeygoldens that were rescued from "Turkey" by AGA, Atlanta golden rescue group. My brother volunteers with them. We love pups, dogs, seniors. I just hate knowing they will not live a long long time. One of our previous dogs was a rescue...and he only made it 12 years. He and our son kind of grew up together. Please visit me when you can. Sheila
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila
DeleteTHANK YOU so much for getting back to me.
The only reason I started this blog was I needed to live again after my furbaby died.
Our 10 year old black lab died 4 years ago. It broke my heart in a zillion tiny pieces. I couldn't get off the couch for weeks. All I did was cry.
One night while not sleeping something popped in my head. Start a blog. I was like WHAT- all I knew was email- I didn't grow up with computers so how am I going to do it.
As you can see I've been blogging almost 3 years and we have a new pup. His name is Max and every Monday is Max Monday. I will always have photos of him growing up.
We live in north Florida in the winter till we sell our place in NY. I volunteer at a shelter walking dogs. I love it, the dogs love it but Max is annoyed when I get home. It's like you traitor! LOL
You bet I'll be back to your blog. I saved your link and you will see me again for sure.
Again- I am so sorry for your loss.
If you get a chance I'm adding a post this week about a dog that you really don't want to miss. It's a unbelievable story about a dog who was a rescue.
Hugs,
Linda
I divide my time between Central Florida (Celebration) and Ohio. Unfortunately it isn't a 6 month one 6 month other thing, it is back and forth all the time, so after years of flying our Welsh terrier, when we lost her, we decided it was not in the cards for us to have a dog again. I was able to visit Long Island for the first time this summer and I loved it. I did several blog posts about the parties we attended and some of the beautiful sites like the Southampton Rose Garden - amazing! Thank you so much for stopping by Celebrate and Decorate!
ReplyDeleteHi Chloe,
DeleteRose Garden at the Library? I worked at the library a few years and was fortunate to enjoy it everyday when it was in bloom.
Have you gone on a ARF tour? You would love it!
So glad I found your blog. LOVE doggies and Max is great. Some pretty good recipes too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl.
DeleteMax is our furbaby and he sure brings life into our home.
Trying to get you up on our Pinterest boards. Can you email me personally at bobbi@3glol.net ?
ReplyDeleteWow just found your blog! I lived on Long Island all my life and are now located in Safety Harbor, Florida, which is near Clearwater. I miss Long Island a lot sometimes, especially in the fall We visit each year at Christmas. My son has a house in Eastport. I will be reading your blog and trying your recipes. I hope someday to sell my big house in Safety Harbor and get an inexpensive condo, then get another inexpensive condo on Long Island so I can be a snowbird and have the best of both worlds!
ReplyDeleteHi Lana,
DeleteWe are way north of you. North Florida gets a little change of season, nothing like NY but it does get cool in the winter. We live in the woods on Long Island. The fall is always beautiful, especially since all the summer people leave. We love it here but it's so expensive. Working on the house to put it up for sale, which is going to break my heart when we sell.
I am east of Eastport- in Sag Harbor.I was born in Southampton Hospital. The only time I have lived outside of the area is when my hubby got into cave diving and we found a place in Florida near the caves.
I hope you have enjoyed the recipes I posted. I'm old and love to cook. Some people love to shop for shoes I love grocery stores!
Thank you for letting me get to know you a little bit. I sincerely hope you get your condo and can enjoy the Island again.
Hugs,
Linda
I was born in Riverhead and grew up in Valley Stream. Love the East End and miss all of LI. Live in Bradenton now, but will always be a Long Islander
ReplyDeleteHi Sydne
DeleteWe go to Riverhead every week to grocery shop! Our son was born in Riverhead hospital. I don't go up island anymore. Don't think I was ever in Valley Stream.
