Refreshing Hawaiian Lemonade

Ingredients:

6 ounces lemonade concentrate thawed

1 12- ounce can mango nectar

1 1/2 cups unsweetened pineapple juice

1 3/4 cups ginger ale

3/4 cup water

Directions:

Mix everything together in a pitcher. Add ice or chill and serve promptly to prevent the soda from losing its fizz.

*Alternatively, if you prefer, mix the lemonade, water, mango nectar, and pineapple juice and then add the ginger ale to each glass to prevent it from going flat- this is what I did.

SO SO hot here! This is very refreshing

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY TROPICAL TURMERIC SMOOTHIE

I picked up a bag of organic turmeric powder in Florida. A garden group raved about the benefits in turmeric and anything that helps to alleviate seasonal allergies is something worth trying.

The recipe uses aloe vera juice which I never heard of. I was going to eliminate it but found a bottle and thought I would give it a try.

The smoothie is delicious! Such a win- win. Yummy & healthy.

Ingredients:

1 cup fresh pineapple
1  small banana
Juice of 1 small lime
1 teaspoon turmeric

1/2 cup aloe vera juice

Directions:

Easy!

Place all the above ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Add to a chilled glass and enjoy.

Pineapple Smoothie

The recipe adapted is from Detoxinista. It was suppose to be a whip. I don't have a vita mix blender so I put everything into the food processor.

I cut up the pineapple and froze it. Had Almond milk I want to use up and added imitation banana extract. I didn't think it needed the honey so I didn't add.

There's a new kitchen gadget called a Swirlio. It's suppose to make soft ice cream from fruit. My cousin is getting it for her daughter so I'll wait and find out how it works before I ask Gregory to get it for me.

Ingredients:

1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup almond milk
1/4 tsp. banana extract
1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Directions:

Peel and core the pineapple. Cut into small pieces and place in the freezer for at least 24 hours.

The recipe called for a Vita-mixer which I don't own but said a food processor might work. It didn't. It came out like a smoothie which I really liked.

Add the frozen pineapple to the food processor( if you have a vita-mixer go to the directions on detoxinista site). Pulse a few times and add the almond milk and the extract.

It came out to soft to put in a bag and pipe into a dish so I just poured it in a glass and thought of summer.
