January Books

The first book of the year that I finished was Our Man in Tokyo: An American Ambassador and the Countdown to Pearl Harbor. I enjoy history and this book was excellent.

The Sugar Thief- Enjoyed this very Canadian read in a place we all know but rarely a story is set there. Very current landscape with social media, influencers and traditional landscape of family and friends.

The Cotillion Brigade: A Novel of the Civil War and the Most Famous Female Militia in American History Based on the true story of the celebrated Nancy Hart Rifles, The Cotillion Brigade is a sweeping epic of the Civil War's ravages on family and love, the resilient bonds of sisterhood amid devastation, and the miracle of reconciliation between bitter enemies. “Gone With The Wind meets A League Of Their Own.”

The Prison Book Club-If you are a book lover this is a MUST read. It opens your mind to all kids of different views and a variety of books you wouldn't normally pick up. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Working on 2 series The Ginger Gold Series by Lee Streuss (on book 8 now) another series Stella and Lyndy books. Both series are cozy mysteries.

Call Me Chef, Dammit!: A Veteran’s Journey from the Rural South to the White House -

  1. You know I love reading your reviews and your list of books you read. The Sugar Thief sounds great....Also the Prison Book Club and the 2 series you are reading are going to get looked up and hopefully found to read. Thanks again for all your great choices....just wish I had more hours in the day to read all I have saved.
