April Books

I started reading the Masie Dobbs books many years ago. I just finished the 17th book in the series-A SUNLIT WEAPON. Some of the books in the series were so-so but this one was very good.

Dear Reader- The Comfort and Joy Of Books-I enjoyed reading about the author's life and the books she read that stood out for her.

New Girl in Little Cove -A charming tale set in 1985 a wee Newfoundland village, depicting Rachel O’Brien who comes “from away”, or Toronto to begin her teaching career in a Catholic school, after the former French teacher has left in disgrace. For those unfamiliar with the singularity of Newfoundland culture and dialect.

Lessons in Chemistry- I really liked this book. Strong woman, cooking and a dog!

  1. I remember you talking about the Masie Dobbs books before. I looked for them but couldn't find them. Will have to look again. I did look up Lessons in Chemistry. Going to see if the library has it. Thanks for all your suggestions.
