Gabes Lemonade

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water (cold), plus 7 cups to serve
1 1/2 cups Lemon Juice (from 8 medium or 6 large lemons)

Directions:

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water with 1 1/2 cups sugar. Place over medium heat and bring just to a simmer, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Remove from the heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature.

Squeeze 1 1/2 cups lemon juice.

To make the full batch of lemonade, pour 7 cups cold water into a pitcher, add the 1 1/2 cups of lemon juice and 1 1/2 cups chilled sugar syrup and stir to combine. You can also add the lemon juice and sugar syrup to taste.

This was the first year my Meyer Lemon tree produced lemons!
We picked the total of 11.

You can tell they are huge! I only needed two to make the lemonade.

The flowers in back of the lemonade were a gift from Mey's daughter.

  1. Wow, those lemons are HUGE !! That pitcher of lemonade looks so good. I was thinking when I first read the recipe, you were going to use most of the lemons you picked, but then....seeing the size of them. The flowers are so pretty. I hope Mey had a nice visit with her daughter.

    1. She had a great time! Nancy is SO good to her. She finished her basement so if and when they need help it's all set. Handicap bathroom and everything needed so they never have to worry.

Next year hopefully I'll get lots of lemons and I'll send you some. They are Meyers so very sweet and are all organic.
