Halloween Saltine Toffee

Ingredients:

1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups dark  chocolate chips
Sprinkles of your choice

Instructions
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and spray with non-stick cooking spray. ( next time I'll use foil)

Place saltine crackers in a single layer on cookie sheet.

Over medium heat, combine butter and sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Continue to boil for about 3 to 5 minutes.

Pour the sugar mixture over the layer of saltines. Using a spatula, spread to fully coat saltines.

Bake in a 400 F oven for about 5 minutes.

Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate over the hot toffee. Let stand for 5 minutes or until chocolate is melted. Spread the chocolate to coat surface.

Added the Halloween sprinkles.

Cut into neat squares with a knife while still warm and then refrigerate to chill. Or refrigerate until completely cooled and hardened and break into random shapes with hands.

  1. This looks so good. I had saved pretty much the same recipe to make "Christmas Crak" Glad I can see how yours came out. So simple to make. The kids will love it.
