Evelyn Hodges Baked Macaroni and Cheese

I had over 500 or more cookbooks before we moved to Florida. Now I have about 50 from home and TRY not to buy any new ones. When I saw a little 2 ring old cooked that you could tell was someones favorite and I had to get it. The recipes are typed and some are cut out from magazines and pasted on the large index cards.

We went to our neighbors for Easter and I wanted to make this dish from my new cookbook.

    1. Did you ever wonder what the person who made those recipes was like . For some reason when I saw the taped on card it made me wonder,if some dear mother or grandmother put that cookbook together to be passed down to her family . It is a treasure to be had and I'm happy you bought it. It will be treasured and those dear recipes will live on through your readers. I will be making this . ❤

    2. I'm such a sap when I see a old cookbook that I know was treasured. I have no one to pass it along to - maybe my friends daughters but once I'm gone it's so sad that those recipes will be also.

I can only hope that what I add to the web might live on. You know what they say- once you put it on it's on there forever.

Did you make it? Like it?

  2. I must have missed this day. I love Mac and Cheese. This recipe sounds very much like one I used to make. I put buttered bread crumbs on top. Thanks for reminding me of the good old days. Dottie, I often wonder the same thing as you. Love those old recipes.
