    1. on my left is Mey. She is married to Richard who was a air force mechanic in Thailand during Vietnam where he met Mey.

Chi Ling is on the other side of me with the green shirt and Sharon.

    2. I recognized Chi Ling from a few other photos. Now Sharon is Don, the super delicious oatmeal cookie guy's wife right? It's always nice to puta face to the name. I think I remember you talking about Mey before. How nice they all got together for your birthday. That's awesome!

Max is happy about it too. :)

    3. Yes, Sharon is Don's wife. I didn't tell them about my birthday. I figured it was my way of throwing my own party- lol.

Max is not a polite host. He's a pushy NY dog that needs attention. I put him in the back yard. He was out there for an hour then he was NOT happy and started to bark. We finished the food so I asked the girls to go in the living room. I let him in. Mey and Chi take off their shoes in homes so the first thing he did was sniff the shoes the realized his "girls" were in the living room. He ran over and got lots and lots of hugs.

    1. I had planned on doing a lunch for the girls last winter when we were down. Never came together do to all the turmoil. This winter I didn't think I was going to have them over and an idea popped in my head. Make this my secret birthday party. I didn't tell anyone about my birthday and did the luncheon.

I made a bunch of good stuff- recipes soon to follow.

    2. What a great idea. Did you finally let the secret out? They must have loved your cooking. Can't wait to see what you made.

PS.....I have been trying to watch my blood sugar. Was told last week that it was elevated....not surprised since I had pigged out on Brownies and ice cream a few days before having the blood work. Anyway, I am trying to be good, so now am looking up foods low in sugar. Bought some almonds, apple cider vinegar, sweet potatoes, and I am looking at ways to use them. Yummy right????

  5. Dottie- I'm at the point in my life now where I want to do things but not get people involved. In the past I have asked people to do things with me and I get all excited then for whatever reason it doesn't work out so now- I just do.

Elaine- No I never said a word. It was nice having them and knowing it was my little party.
