ANTI-INFLAMMATORY TROPICAL TURMERIC SMOOTHIE

I picked up a bag of organic turmeric powder in Florida. A garden group raved about the benefits in turmeric and anything that helps to alleviate seasonal allergies is something worth trying.

The recipe uses aloe vera juice which I never heard of. I was going to eliminate it but found a bottle and thought I would give it a try.

The smoothie is delicious! Such a win- win. Yummy & healthy.

Ingredients:

1 cup fresh pineapple
1  small banana
Juice of 1 small lime
1 teaspoon turmeric

1/2 cup aloe vera juice

Directions:

Easy!

Place all the above ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Add to a chilled glass and enjoy.

    1. The garden group loves turmeric. They plant it and useturmeric rhizomes (often called roots) look similar to ginger, a close relative. Like ginger, fresh rhizomes have a livelier flavor than dried.

I haven't planted that yet and the bag is a good size so I'll use that up first.

I also made a turmeric tea and it's good!

  2. That looks refreshing! I use turmeric a lot in cooking but haven't gone beyond that. I have read that it's good for a lot of different things as far as health goes. Would much rather go natural for health rather than medication if at all possible....pills scare the you know what out of me....for good reason....

    1. Why have the pharmaceutical companies charge you a ton of money when foods can heal?

  7. I put turmeric in all my smoothies as it is anti-inflammatory. Pineapple is supposed to be really good for that too. Sounds like a great smoothie!
