STRAWBERRY MANGO SMOOTHIE
It's strawberry season in Florida. Strawberries from Plant City or Stark. Who can resist fresh berries? I sure can't!
This recipe from Baker by Nature. I saw this on pinterest and knew I was making it asap. I cut up the strawberries, mango and placed in a plastic bag and froze.
Ingredients:
For the mango layer:
Heaping 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
3/4 cup orange juice
For the strawberry layer:
Heaping 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup orange juice, more if needed
1 tablespoon honey or sugar, optional
Directions:
1-Mango layer:
Place all of the ingredients in blender; pulse until smooth, add a bit more orange juice, if needed.
For the strawberry layer:
Place all of the ingredients in blender; pulse until smooth, adding orange juice to thin, if needed.
Assembly:
Fill each glass half way with the mango mixture then fill the rest of the glass with the strawberry mixture; add straws and enjoy!

ReplyDeleteThe strawberries here are just starting to taste like strawberries and not the plastic carton. The last few boxes I've bought have been really sweet.
They are really good this year. Saw in the local paper flats were on sale for 6.99! Wonder what else I can come up with?
