I wish my teacher knew...

Kyle Schwartz, a third-grade teacher asked the above question to her students. Instead of asking the question directly, she came up with a creative way to pose it.

Students were asked to hang what they wanted the teacher to know on a bulletin board when no one was looking.

These were a few that were on the bulletin board.

  1. That is so sad, but so true as well. So many teachers also spend their own money for classroom supplies and we do backpacks for kids every year at work and most of us buy two back packs and fill them up with double the requirments and some things they should have but don't. The dr's join in too. So many kids to help and so many elderly need the help too. Our gov't spends too much money on grants to study a bug's sex life when it should go to the schools for funding children's needs or FREE adult care for elderly who can't afford to eat much less pay their bills. I actually had one of my patients say "I can't even afford to feed my cat properly some weeks" and it wasn't a complaint as much as it was her venting about limited income. my co-worker's patient was a man that loved to give his opinion without being asked "you shouldn't have a pet if you can't afford it" I said "A cat is more of a loving companion than most Spouses" he said "i'm not married" My patient said "And YOU wonder why I prefer my cat? Thanks, I'll keep the cat, he makes me smile and doesn't complain all the time" I love that woman.

  2. This goes to show---no one knows what goes on behind the scenes....you look at anyone anywhere and you don't know what's really going on in their lives. It's so sad to see children struggle so hard with adult problems....that's not right. It's heartbreaking to see those notes. I applaud that teacher for giving her students a place to vent their stresses......best to get it out....

  3. I wish my Teacher knew all the levels of abuse I was getting . Back then we were not allowed to tell . We had know one to go to. When I did go to my Mom I was told I must have misunderstood something. I was a preteen when I went to her. I sure as heck didn't misunderstand. They didn't listen. We were seen and not heard. This is a sore subject with me. But I am so glad our generation made it easier for the generation coming after us. We need to learn to listen to all of these kids. I am so happy there is a teacher like this. All of the teachers need to do this for their class rooms. It might save a lot of our little one's. God Bless Our Kids..
