Fire ants

One thing in Florida I abhor is fire ants. Whenever I work outside I get bitten.

This is an article about a skydiver named Joan Murray.

Her parachute failed and as she approached the ground at 80 miles per hours she landed on a mound of fire ants.

The shock from being stung over 200 times by the ants released a surge of adrenaline which kept her heart beating.

Who would of known fire ants were good for something?

  1. Holy cow! I can't imagine being bitten by anything that many times! I'll have to show Bob this article........he used to sky dive back when he was young and foolish.

And after having that happen and all the surgeries she had to endure-she went skydiving again..........Wow............

  2. This really is an amazing story. Wow, being bitten that many times is not something I would want to have happen to me, but if this saved her life, it was a good thing.

Carol, I had to laugh.....when Bob was young and foolish....wonder if he would attempt anything like that now.

  4. We had an old railroad log we used as a border for a flower garden. One year I was standing on it talking over the fence with my neighbor. I started feeling these stings on my legs and saw it was full of red ants. It hurt and that very day we got that Railroad tie removed. I am happy this lady wasn't alergic to the bites. It took a lot of gumption to jump again on her part. But they say if you don't get back up and do it again you never will. Good for her..

    1. Dottie- I didn't know they were in the northern states! I thought it was a 'southern' problem. We don't have them in NY but there are plenty around here.

    1. They take the Max taxi and get on the bed with him-

Wasn't that something? That's the kind of thing you read about in a novel. Truth is stranger then fiction.
