Cola Pork Chops

This is another recipe that has been around for awhile. It's a good one and easy to make

Ingredients:

6-8 chops
1 large onion, sliced
12-16 ounces of Coca Cola
3 T. prepared mustard
6 T. ketchup
dash of pepper
dash of salt
1 can sliced mushrooms (or fresh)
dash of garlic powder

Directions:

Place  the pork chops in a large frying pan coated with non stick spray and brown on both sides. Once brown remove and set aside.

Stir-fry the onion in the same pan that you browned the chops in. Once cooked remove from pan and set aside.

Mix the cola, mustard, ketchup, salt and pepper and the garlic in a small bowl.

When the cola mixture is combined pour into the pan that the pork chops were browned. Add the onions and mushrooms and then the pork chops. Make sure the pork chops are covered in the sauce.

Cover and simmer for 45 minutes over low heat.

Serve over rice.

  1. I haven't bought pork chops in so long........I was sick of them coming out dry so I stick with roasts or pork tenderloin.

I've never cooked with Coca Cola.........these sound interesting. And easy sounds good too. :)

    Thanks Linda!

    1. I don't have it in the house that often but I made the baked beans. You know me, I won't waste anything!

  2. I have heard of lots of foods being cooked with cola. I have made some kind of beef stew with it. Since I am not a pork person, I would probably try this recipe with chicken. Since I only cook for myself most of the time, I hardly ever cook. You would laugh at what I am eating for dinner tonight.........string beans and cheese. Seems like the less meat I eat, the less I want it. I have some meatballs in the freezer, so maybe this will be my next meal.

Linda, thanks for sharing this, I am just getting on here tonight, due to a hectic day.

    1. Yeah. I had leftover cola and I wasn't going to drink it so I added it to this instead. Thanks for stopping by.
