Baked Ravioli

This is a recipe for when you are in a hurry and need to toss something together quickly.

Gabe sure didn't complain, he loves pasta and enjoyed it.

ingredients:

1 bag ( 25 ounces) frozen ravioli ( placed the ravioli in single layer in pan)

1 ( 26 ounce) jar marinara sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella

Parmesan cheese for sprinkling the top of the dish

directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Spray the bottom of a 9 X 13 baking dish with cooking spray

Spread  some of the sauce to cover the bottom of the dish.

Place the frozen  ravioli  on top of the sauce.( make sure the ravioli don't stick together- it takes longer to cook when they aren't separated)

Add more sauce and then the cheese.

Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes and carefully remove the foil from the dish and bake another 15 minutes and it's bubbly.
Let it stand 10 minutes.

As soon as I took it out of the oven Gabe was ready. I should of picked up bread but he was so happy to have pasta again that he didn't care.

Gabe was so cute, asked me not to "misplace" the recipe. It's where I can find it and I get to share it with all of you.

  1. LOL ! Gabe said not to misplace the recipe....if he only knew how easy it was. Maybe he thought you slaved away the day making the dough and filling. I have made this several times. I love the mini raviolis. I found a new way I like them. I bought a jar of pesto sauce and put this on instead of red sauce. I use the grated cheese and sliced up those wrinkled black olives........next time I am going to add sun dried tomatoes. A lot of garlic, but this is my fav, and with no one around to smell me......I go for it.

  2. Gosh I don't know when the last time was I bought frozen ravioli...we like it but I never think of buying it. Probably because we're trying to limit pasta........I know that would be OK with you Linda but for me? I grew up in an Italian house where pasta was the mainstay-I could never give it up totally.

I've seen recipes like this one and I never think of making them until I drop that ding dang ravioli in the boiling water........sigh......I need to retrain my brain!

I can imagine Gabe was ONE HAPPY diner last night. :) Big question is-what did you have????????????
