Strawberry Avocado Salsa

This recipe is from a blog I frequent regularly.  Kevin Lynch's Closet Cooking has wonderful recipes. When I found this on pinterest I wasn't surprised it came from Kevin's blog.
I adapted the recipe slightly.

This recipe by the way was excellent! Great combo and will make again.

1 1/4 cups washed strawberries, cut into small pieces

1/2 cup avocado, cut into small pieces

1 jalapeno, finely diced( I used jalapeno flakes and chili garlic sauce to taste)

1/4 cup red onion, finely diced

1 lime, juice and zest( I used 1 tablespoon key lime juice)
1 handful cilantro, chopped
salt and pepper to taste( Didn't use- sprinkled with cajun seasoning)

Combine everything in a medium size bowl and refrigerate until cool.

Garnish with chopped cilantro and add seasoning to taste.

  1. Yes please-and THANK YOU! That looks so good. I love combinations like this. What a great side kick for chicken or pork. When the strawberries and avocado look good at the store, I know what I'll be making!

By the way-I just love that bowl-it's so pretty.

Thanks Linda-and thanks to Kevin too-I agree with you Linda, he has a fantastic blog. :)

  3. This sounds great I may have to make it tonight! I discovered a really good coleslaw the other day at a BBQ cook off. They shared their ingredients which were shredded cabbage, yellow pepper sliced very thinly, cilantro, and the dressing was a thin wonderful raspberry vinaigrette. I found the perfect one made by Kraft called Raspberry Poppyseed Anthing dressing. I am also trying to create my own version. I have two quarts of raspberries and white wine marinating in the pantry.

  4. I'm pinning it, but I know I'll have to make it when my husband is not around. He will mightily protest ruining strawnberries by combining them with avacado!
