Mrs Harris Goes to Paris - I wanted to see the movie when it came out but LC didn't show it. It's on pay per view and just haven't gotten around to watching it. The library added the book and I downloaded it right right away.
It's a wonderful story!Mrs Harris is a London cleaning lady aged about 60 who sets her heart on buying a Christian Dior dress, which she has to go to Paris for. That's only the start of her adventure because the purchase turns out to be more complicated than she expects. Along the way she cheers the lives of everyone she meets.
Call The Midwife (The Midwife Trilogy #2)Shadows of the Workhouse I love this series. It's been on PBS for quite a few years. I have never missed a show. This book had a few stories that haven't been on the series. This is a follow up to CALL THE MIDWIFE, Jennifer Worth, a midwife working in the docklands area of East London in the 1950s tells more stories about the people she encountered.
I wanted to see Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris too. It was only in the theaters near us for a week.I'll have to rent it. I think Call The Midwife is one of my top 5 series that I love. I watched every episode and then some twice on I believe it was Netflix.
ReplyDeleteThere is an older version with Angela Lansbury. You can watch it on You Tube free. It's under Mrs 'Arris Goes to Paris TV Movie 1992. Angela Lansbury she was 67 in this film.
DeleteAdding Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris to my "To Read" list (which keeps getting longer by the minute!)
ReplyDeleteI am adding Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris to my list. Sounds like I will like this one. LOL KT, my list keeps getting longer also.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to watch Call the Midwife. I keep forgetting when it is on. Will have to remember to look. This will not be easy..
The movie on You Tube sort of follows the story. The book as usual is so much better.
DeleteCall the Midwife is such a good series. Hope you get a chance to watch it
