We have duel sinks in our bathroom. Gabe never has a problem with his sink but my drain seems to always clog. I wanted to find a natural cleaner and this seems to fit the bill. It works!
You need 1/2 cup each of baking soda, salt, and vinegar and a couple quarts of boiling water. Just before going to bed (to allow the solution to sit overnight, giving it more cleaning horsepower), do the following: Pour the salt and the baking soda into the drain. ... Chase with at least 2 quarts of boiling water.
Vinegar helps to eat through grease and other clogs, salt alone will scour the inside of the pipe, since it is so coarse and abrasive. Measure a 1/2 cup of salt. Then pour it directly down the drain. Rinse the drain with boiling water.
Little note to self- it's gotten warmer so haven't been in the kitchen much. Love working outside. Weeded the front now to pick up new mulch!
Good hint Linda. I will remember this one.
