Robins have tiny feathers around their eyes



The feathers  are called Rictal bristles. They can feel the prey's movement better, like a cat's whiskers. Like a touch sensor thingie. If the bug is trying to escape from the side of the beak, the bird senses it with those and it can do something to eat it properly.

  2. Linda I raised a Robin after it fell out of a tree . I did let it go when it could fly..They are beautiful little Birds and our State Bird. I always get excited looking for the first Robin in the spring in my yard. That's when I know Spring is here .
