Slowcooker Three Bean Chili Deluxe

I saw this recipe on Design Mom .  Gabe loves chili . It's something we like to cook together.

I never considered adding a package of ranch dressing to chili. We looked at each other when we saw the secret  ingredient. We looked at each other and Gabe said- why not? You know what?  It was good!

It was stated on Design Mom that this isn't a spicy chili. Gabe wanted to add some of his Bat sauce which is HOT and I convinced him to add some cayenne instead.

 Perfect for Superbowl Sunday!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
2 heaping teaspoons chopped garlic (about 3-4 cloves)
3-8 ounce cans tomato sauce
2-16 ounce cans light red kidney beans (do not drain)
2-16 ounce cans dark red kidney beans (do not drain)
2-16 ounce cans black beans (do not drain)
1 entire packet of powdered Ranch Dressing mix
1 Tablespoon cumin
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1 Tablespoon Cayenne powder ( my addition)
1 teaspoon salt ( didn't add)
2 spoonfuls of the secret ingredient (which is cream cheese) I added 1 tablespoon Cream Cheese

Directions:

1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic. Drain the fat.

2.Transfer to slow cooker

3 Add the remaining ingredients. Place lid on slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 4 hours.

3. Ladle into bowls and top with sour cream, cheddar cheese, and green onions.

  1. Oh WOW, this looks like it will become a favorite Chili recipe. I Love Chili, and have tried so many different recipes to make it. I also never heard of using ranch dressing, but it is used in so many other recipes, why not chili? Also never thought of adding cream cheese, but hey why not? I would probably make half of this recipe since it looks like a lot. Thanks again for sharing a sure to be favorite.

  3. This does look good. I don't make chili anymore, Bruce does, he won second place in a chili cookoff so now he thinks only he can make it,lol.

I do add cream cheese to spaghetti sauce and lasagna so I think it would be pretty good in here. I have had ranch chili at the cook off .

  6. This looks very good, Linda, will have to try. I have a variation on this same recipe - minus the cream cheese - just add a can of corn, large can tomato juice and it's a taco soup! I just make it in the crockpot (after browning the meat), and it freezes well, too.

  15. This looks like a tasty, easy to make chili. I made another chili recipe for the Super Bowl and was disappointed as how salty it was. Unfortunately, it sat in the fridge and we never did finish eating it. What a disappointment. Thanks for sharing your find with us at the Over the Moon Link Party.
