MM 153 Weeks
This was taken when we were in Florida. I didn't have a new photo to put up this week and I want to explain why I'm posting an older photo.
Max and I were going to take our normal walk. We got to the top of our hill and I spotted a dog at the end of our road. I didn't recognize the dog so we didn't continue. We stayed still and I thought the dog would move on. It didn't and bolted up and attacked Max.
I screamed and scared the dog but it already did it's damage. Max was bitten on his leg.
I cleaned up the wound and knew it had to be seen by our vet. I was lucky he was able to get us in right away.
Max is on a weeks worth of antibiotics and he also received an injection.
Max was lucky. It could of been a lot worse and thank God he's ok but when you see a dog running at you bearing it's teeth it scares the life out of you.

Poor Max.....what an ordeal. You're so right Linda, it could have been way worse, but man what he got was bad enough. I hope he's doing better today....I know he was one hurtin' puppy after it happened. I hope whoever owns that dog got a good talkin to by the authorities. It shouldn't be running around if it's that mean.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like he found a good buddy in the photo above-they both look pretty happy. :)
Hugs to Max AND you-that would have scared the YOU-KNOW-WHAT out of me........
You know I reported the dog to the town. That dog has also attacked another dog in the neighborhood but a guy was walking his dogs and he kicked it so his dog wasn't injured.
DeleteI am so sorry that Max has to go through this. You never can trust a dog you don't know, even sometimes dogs you do know. I hope Max recovers fast and will be back to his old self real soon. I don't know why dogs are allowed to run free in the streets. We have leash laws......the owners can get fined if they are not tied up or on a leash. Give Max a big gentle belly rub from me.
ReplyDeleteMax thanks you for the extra belly rub!
DeleteWe have leash laws also. Think it matters?
A little slap here and there and it's forgotten until next time.
That's awful & it could of been horribly worse. A loose dog is not a good thing. I used to carry my small tazer with me when I used walk my dogs years ago. The noise scared the other dogs but it's not legal to carry now. I hope you both are feeling better. I would of been scared out of my mind.
ReplyDeleteYou bet I was! When I go back to Florida I'm getting a tazer.
DeleteGabe cut a large stick for me to carry and if that dog gets close to us again it's gonna be sorry.
So sorry to hear that Max was hurt. Thinking about it, you could have been hurt as well. Has this frightened you so much that you are leery of every new dog? I know I would be. Sure hope this was a one and only negative experience.
ReplyDeleteHi Angela- my shoulders are sore from all the pulling so the heating pad has been working over time!
DeleteWith the stick Gabe made me I'm certainly prepared for any animal!
I can imagine why your shoulders would be sore! Take care of yourself now. Hopefully you won't need the stick Gabe made for you anytime soon.
DeleteThanks Angela. I'll take it with me just to be on the safe side.
DeletePoor Max!I hope he heals fast. Did you report the beast who attacked him?
ReplyDeleteYou bet I did, I also went to her house and told her she was paying the vet bill.
DeleteI'm in tears knowing some irate dog hurt Max. I'm so glad it wasn't you Linda. But when our Fur babies are hurt we are too. Its so hard to read that Max was attacked. He is such a loving fellow. I pray this experience doesn't change Max . Thank God you were able to talk to the owner. Yes they need to pay the vet bill. Give our Max lots of love from us all.
ReplyDeleteHe really is Dottie. When the dog was running towards us Max didn't think he was going to hurt him- he thought the other dog wanted to play!
