Buffalo Roasted Chickpeas

This is a healthy snack. Recipe adapted from Pretty Plate.

Ingredients:

2 cups chickpeas- drained and rinsed
1 tablespoon olive oil
2-3 tablespoons hot sauce of your choice
1/4 tsp. cayenne powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degree F/ 200  degree C

Place the drained and rinsed chickpeas on a paper towel and pat dry.

In a small bowl add the olive oil.

Add chickpeas to the bowl with olive oil and make sure all the chickpeas are covered with the oil.

Place the coated chickpeas in a even layer on a large rimmed baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes.

In a small bowl add the hot sauce, cayenne & garlic powder

Remove the chickpea from the oven and add to the bowl of hot sauce mix. Coat all the chickpeas with the hot sauce.

Place the chickpeas back on the rimmed baking sheet and bake an additional 3-5 minutes.

  1. Oh boy, I am going to make these right now. I know just the hot sauce to use, Slap ya Mama. I love chick peas, and have some in the cabinet now. Thanks Linda, these are my snack for today.

  2. Those look SO good Linda...I'm gonna have to try them...the last time I roasted chickpeas they were a bust-I think cause the recipe didn't have a lot of stuff added to it you know? Your dinner would be mighty fine with me-I would enjoy every last bite! I bet you did too. :

By the way...I LOVE that plate your salad is on......you know me-I notice stuff like that...... :)

  3. LOL Carol,,,,,,,the plate is pretty. I just made the chickpeas. I had to. Just took them out of the oven. I think next time I won't make them quite so hot. I think I put in too much hot sauce, but this is ok, since I am going to add them to my barley. Barley is kind of bland, so this will spice it up. I can't wait to eat it.

  4. I love chickpeas but no hot sauce in the house! I think I need to get some though I'm not into spicey/hot. I think Ray might like it though as I think his taste buds have changed and he needs more spice on everything! Have it on the list now! LOL

    1. I was picking on them and it was time for dinner. I had some spinach in the refrigerator and tossed it on a plate and topped with the chickpeas and added some ranch. Perfect light meal.

My friend Myra add them to barley and she loved it.
