Buddha seems to bring tranquility to Oakland neighborhood

This is one of those feel good stories. Dan Stevenson, who lives in Oakland California bought a 2 foot high statue of Buddha from his local Ace Hardware store.

Mr. Stevenson does not follow any organized religion but he was hopeful that the little Buddha would  brings some tranquility to his troubled neighborhood.

This is a wonderful article on how one man and the Buddha made a difference.

  1. Hmmmm, very interesting. Wonder what would happen if they put one of these in the troubled neighborhoods. I can't seem to think it would work in the drug zones..Nice to see one success story tho.

  3. What a great story. And GOOD FOR THE NEIGHBORS rallying around and saying NO when the city wanted to remove it. Dan Stevenson made a good call buying that Buddah statue and sticking it down GOOD in that spot. It worked a bigger miracle than I bet he even envisioned.

I agree with Cyndy-thank you for the dose of "feel good"...... even if I am a day late. :)
