German Cinnamon Jumbo Cookies

This recipe is from Food.com

Ingredients:

1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
4 cups flour, all purpose
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350° F. Cream sugar, shortening, vanilla and eggs together. Combine flour, soda, salt and gradually add along with milk to creamed mixture. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Mix together cinnamon and sugar; sprinkle on each cookie. Bake 13 minutes. Makes 4 dozen

Note:The batter was thin so next time reduce the amount of liquid. I saw other reviews and they  reduced the liquid by 1/4 cup.
The cookie is very moist and puffy. Don't under bake as they tend to stick to the cooking rack.

    1. Dottie- there are so many artificial sweeteners out there. Honestly I don't know what to tell you. I don't use splenda and try to stay away from all artificial sweeteners. Sorry I couldn't be much help.

    1. Hey Elaine- thanks for stopping by. No, snicker doodles are one of my favorites and these are good but not the same taste.

If you make them let me know what you thought.

  6. I appreciate you stopping by. Elaine- if I had to pick which cookie to make I would go with the snickerdoodle. These were good but sort time consuming and I did like them but would pick up a snickerdoodle before this one. If you so make it -cut the liquid. I think that's what messed me up on this one.
