Fresh Herbs At My Fingertips

My guys will tell you I'm extremely difficult to shop for. I use to have a thing for coats but that isn't happening anymore since we spend the winter in Florida.

I've always been into anything for the  kitchen but I've reached my quota for amount I can store in the new house. Cookbooks seemed to be the go to gift and now I'm giving away most of my collection.

Gregory said he had to dig deep this year to think of something that I would love.

No malls in the gulf and Gregory always shops amazon. I have to tell you, amazon needs to hire people who know how to wrap! They certainty are wrap challenged.

We haven't set up a garden in the yard yet. It's something I'm looking forward to.

In the meantime I now have

I have 7 pods of herbs- chives, mint, parsley, dill, basil, cilantro and Thai basil.

All the herbs can be planted outside and hopefully they will thrive this summer.

Great gift huh? Thanks Gregory!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Now that is ONE SMART SHOPPER you have there...what a super idea! You're gonna be all set with fresh herbs now, you lucky girl.

    I never have luck starting stuff from seed. I wish we had room for something like that-daggum big house and no space-windows, doors and heat registers abound. AND the windows are facing the wrong direction so no sun for growing. How about them apples?

    Linda-I know what you need....a nice bookcase so you can hang on to your treasured cookbooks-I bet you could find one of those fairly reasonable in your travels. I always keep my eye open at yard sales and that. I have my cookbooks (well, SOME of them) in the living room bookcase now-not practical but I'll tell you what-it works! I'd be lost without my cookbooks to keep me company. :)

  2. Wow this is the perfect gift for you !!!! My neighbor has her herbs in pots in the kitchen window. In the summer, she has a plant stand on the deck and she puts the pots out there. She has a thriving collection. My other neighbor had his herb garden in a long box on the deck. He even put them away for the winter in his garage covered, and they thrived. You can find a sunny spot and plant them til you find a place. Can't wait to see what they look like when they grow. Great Job Gregory !!!

  3. How sweet to have a Son that knows what is just the right gift for you. Give Gregory a hug for me. He is a super son. I was just thinking of how you must have climbed up on the table or a chair to get the second shot of your beautiful gift. ; }
