Winding Down

Today is my 6th year of blogging. I started the blog as a form of therapy to help recover from the loss of my beloved Rip. I wanted and needed to focus on something I had never done. It was totally challenging. I figured it out, which was a huge accomplishment, considering I am not computer savvy.

Cooking is something I loved doing . My passion was cookbooks, which at one time I had over a thousand. There might be 12 left out of that collection. Giving them away was extremely hard but I was grateful Carol wanted a few boxes .

Many thanks to the special people who have been the wind beneath my wings. Myra- who almost never misses a day and has been with me since day one. Carol- who is a fabulous cook and baker who shared her fabulous  recipes. Cyndy- whose recipes are enjoyed by many. Dottie- who I met many, many years ago and proud to call her my friend. Rita- whose BLOG is amazing. To the many others whom have left comments, became a follower - thank you.

I plan to post recipes from time to time. They will be added to pinterest and yummly boards. Type in  und BestoflongIslandandcentralflorida on either board and it will direct you to any recipe, new or old . No more parties for me. If you want to see what I'm up to check out the two mentioned or follow me.

Max hasn't been feeling well and I do not want to add photos of him knowing he's having a difficulty time.

I hope you continue to visit from time to time. I might not be cooking as much but when I do it's always with love.

  2. Myra- I'll still post recipes from time to time but I'm not going to post them on "parties". They are other blogs that I share my link to a recipe I made.

Max is hurting and I'm not going to add anything that might upset him.

I'm not giving up, just winding down. One day I'll completely stop, but not now

  5. Linda, what a pleasure it's been to see your blog emails pop up in my inbox, whether it be a recipe, a quirky story (often underwater), or MM weekly. You will be missed, but I will follow your Pinterest board. I wish you, Gabe and Max all the best. I appreciate your mention of my blog (!), truly humbled, and will look forward to any and all posts you deliver in the future. Take care, my friend.

  9. Linda- we started being friends on the taste of homes board many years ago. I remember you losing Rip. I followed you to here when you left the TOH board. I sure will miss you. I don't post. I try but that robot thing makes me lose my post. Do you still have my email. Weebill / Elaine from Both Dakota?

  10. I remember you telling me the background of why you started the blog-losing a precious member of the family is always hard. I'm sorry to hear that Max isn't feeling well....hoping he starts to feel better. Our four legged babies are so special.

I want to thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to share some of my recipes here on your blog. It was a lot of fun. Bob and I used to love setting up the food photos and taking pictures of the finished dishes. We don't do it much any more....just don't have the desire.

I also want to thank you for sharing some of your beloved cookbooks with me. You and I both know how much fun it is to get a good cookbook in your hands and read it like a novel. So many inspiring recipes just waiting to be created. I cherish the books you sent and use them quite often.

Life has a way of handing us changes...whether we like them or not. One thing won't change-I don't think....our love of cooking, baking and recipes. I'll always be checking to see what you're up to in the kitchen-and now that you have an Instant Pot, I know we'll be passing recipes we try and fall in love with back and forth. I just wish the fence I passed them over from was closer than MA to FL! :)

I'm always an email away. Big hugs to you, Gabe and Max.

    Carol
