Peanut Butter Cookies That Make You Go Wild

The last three cookies! I'm lucky there were a few left.

This is going to be the summer of peanut butter cookies. I love making cookies and have so much peanut butter that many new recipes will be made.

Carol sent me a bunch of recipes and if anyone has any favorites you would like me to try please email me.

Gabe likes peanut butter cookies. He doesn't eat many but he enjoys them.

I also have the other peanut butter fans. Marie and Ted, John, Ethan, Ted, Andy and Neil.

Carol sends me cookbooks and I was reading Come Bless us all by Kay Siunaamaan and found this recipe.

You can tell by the photos that it was delicious!

I slightly adapted the recipe and added vanilla

Ingredients:

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F or 177 C

Cream together the peanut butter, butter and sugar in a large bowl.

Add eggs and vanilla and mix well

Add flour and baking soda

Stir in the chocolate chips

Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet

Add to your 350 degree preheated oven and bake for 12 minutes ( less of you like a soft cookie).

If you like a chewy cookies cook for less time

The first photo is John our neighbor and close friend.  The second is some of the guys on the dive boat. Gabe goes out with Neil and it give me another excuse to make cookies.

Think they liked them?

I know our friends Marie and Ted really liked Triple Play Peanut Butter Cookies and since I made corn syrup with Everett I wanted to include it in Deep South Peanut Butter Cookies

  1. Judging by all those smiling faces in the photos-I'd say these cookies are a real hit! They look delicious, Linda. We're peanut butter cookie lovers here so I'm really looking forward to trying these. Peanut butter and chocolate chips? Can't go wrong there!

I love that cookbook. It's from a BIG family FULL of great cooks and bakers. Robin is close to (and works for) one of the families, so I've told her to LET ME KNOW when they do another cookbook. I'll be right in line making sure we each get one. I have 3 of them that they've done and treasure them all.

These kind of cookbooks are my favorites.....made by people who love recipes, cooking and baking as much as I do. :)

  2. Oh gosh, I wish you lived near me Linda......I would love to be a sample taster for you. Your cookies look so yummy. Chocolate Chip is my very favorite, and I would have them eaten right away. The guys eating the cookies look very happy, and I bet you are lucky you had 3 left to show.

I also love those cookbooks. I have one that was made so many years ago, and it is so water stained and worn out. I also have another one that is even older than that one, but it is hardcover, so it is not too bad. I have told everyone, if you ever get another one let me know. One of the bridal showers I went to, asked us for our favorite recipe, and they printed them and gave them as favors. I love the recipes in there. One chicken one is a big favorite.

Thanks Linda for sharing this recipe. I was wondering if you could use almond butter instead of peanut butter. I am going to find some cookie recipes for you to try for me.

  3. ooh, NICE. I can eat one maybe 2 small peanut butter cookies without any problems since I'm allergic to peanuts. I have to try this one. My dr says it's because they're baked. I don't know. but I love peanut butter anything and it's hard to resist. good thing is that I have people to give them to or I'd want more than a few. they look fabulous and I bet the guys inhaled them! Oh Myra, I wish we all lived close to each other. we would have so much fun together and probably never leave the kitchen! :)
