Baked Bang Bang Cauliflower

WOW! Love this recipe. It's a five star  and  sure don't want to misplace this one.

I don't fry. We have a little fryer in Florida which I never use and back home we have a large one which Gabe uses to make french fries. Perfect recipe for someone who prefers to bake and not deep fry.

I found this recipe on Kate's Recipe Box  and I knew I was going to love it.

I subbed the Greek yogurt for mayo and the whole wheat for white flour.

Ingredients:

1 head of cauliflower
3/4 cup whole wheat flour ( used white flour)
1 cup milk
1/2 cup mayonnaise ( used plain Greek Yogurt)
1/2 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
2-4 tsp. sriracha sauce
Green onions

Directions:

Preheat  oven to 450 degrees.

Prepare a large baking sheet. I covered the bottom of mine with aluminium foil. You could also use parchment paper .

Wash and dry the cauliflower and cut into florets.

In a medium size bowl add the milk and the flour and whisk together.

Add the florets to the bowl with the milk and flour mixture  and mix in the florets until all are covered with the mixture.

Remove each floret and place on baking sheet making sure that the excess liquid drips off and not onto the baking sheet . Continue until all florets are on the baking sheet.

When all the florets are on the baking sheet spray the top of all the florets with a cooking spray. I used a butter spray.

Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated 450 oven.

In a medium size bowl combine the yogurt (mayo), Thai sweet chili sauce and the sriracha and mix well.

When the cauliflower is done remove from the oven and add to the bowl with the yogurt, chili sauce and sriracha.

Stir gently until all the cauliflower is covered.

Add to a serving dish and garnish with green onion.

  3. I love cauliflower too and I tried a recipe that was sorta kinda like this, only you left it whole and covered it with yogurt and some curry stuff. IT smelled delicious but the cauliflower didn't cook enough. I will definitely try this one. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

    1. Kay, sriracha sauce is a spicy chili sauce. I usually find it either in the ketchup aisle or the Asian cuisine aisle.
