  1. I know I'm a day late with the video. Yesterday was Veterans day and I found the video last night and wanted to share it.

  2. What a great story. It must of been so hard for him to remember all the bad things that happened. To hear that he had beer named after him made him smile. He left feeling good about his time there. Dad always said that he wouldn't forget how many friends he lost & how horrible it was. I hope one day all the leaders of the world will see that fighting & eat are no way to solve issues.

    1. Isn't it amazing how much technology has evolved but humans haven't?

  3. Got to love a phone that can't spell. The word should be War, not eat!

  4. This brings back so many memories of sitting at my parents' house listening to my Dad and my Uncles talk about their time in Belgium and other parts of Europe during WW11. What a great story Vince told.........I can just see him now putting that helmet on his head and the beer dumping all over him---poor guy. Talk about a full circle moment huh? To think everyone thought it was a rumor that that happened and to have the actual guy who did the deed show up back in Bastogne to prove it really happened.

Thanks for sharing Vince's story, Linda. :)

    1. Carol I have a fascination about WWII. Most of the books I read are somewhat related to it. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It was an oral history from a man who I'm happy got to share his story.

  5. This was wonderful. I loved listening to stories that the older people would tell about their days in the war. My dad was in WW 11, he was in the army. Sadly, he passed away when I was 6, so I didn't have him to tell me stories. I do have some stories from my aunts and pictures of him while he was in the service. One of the pictures shows him standing next to a friend of his, who went on to be the head of Kelloggs. I sure wish I had had more years with him.
