Intermarché - "Inglorious Fruits and Vegetables"

  1. Now that's funny because I've seen some fruits and veggies in the market that look downright OBSCENE. I hate waste, but it's hard to buy something like that even though I know it's still going to be a carrot or lemon or even a tomato and the taste will be the same.

    1. Fruit around here looks to perfect- that's why everything is so expensive. Then when it doesn't sell it's tossed - total waste

  2. I'm happy to see the goodies are not being wasted now.Instead of wasting they could have given them to shelters , etc also. So sad to see them being wasted in anyway.

    1. Hate that. I worked in a grocery store and it was awful to see good fruits and vegetables go to waste. Someone who worked with me said the amount of food tossed everyday would feed people for months.

  3. YES! Every grocery store SHOULD do this-just because they don't LOOK perfect doesn't mean they don't taste just as good as the perfect ones. Label them as such and people will come-that video proves it. Some of the things I grow in the garden sure as heck don't look perfect but I'll be darned if I'll throw them away-we eat them-they taste wonderful.

Good Lord-there are plenty of heirloom tomatoes that are misshapen and hideous-but MAN are they delicious.

What a great story-more should follow suit.............

    1. Carol- you know the story of the zucchini I got to use. No way was it going to go to waste and I made the zucchini tots and look what happened? I got a recipe that is popular!
