Japanese White Pine that survived the Hiroshima Bombing, 400 years old

                                                                 Absolutely beautiful.

If you want to learn more about the tree check out the video.

  1. What a beautiful tree-and I love hearing the background story about it. Isn't it wonderful that the original owner got to come to the U.S. and see that his tree is "happy"?

The art of Bonsai takes SO much patience-something I'm afraid I don't have. Like that one tree that can't be touched and has to be held with tweezers..........yikes! I can't imagine the hours it takes to maintain all of those trees. The workers and volunteers are constantly busy, that's for sure.

    What a wonderful collection-it's definitely a treasure.

  2. I really enjoyed seeing the film. I have always liked the Bonsai trees, and to see this collection is so amazing. To think that one survived the bombing, and is still around after 400 years is a work of some very special caretakers. Thanks for sharing this, I learn something new everyday from you.
