MM 47 Weeks

The little chicken will not go down the cellar stairs. He gets to the third step down and hangs out there till I or Gabe come back up.

  1. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh look at him! He's saying HELP!! :)

Our last 2 dogs were the same way-although it wasn't down that worried them-especially when there was a thunderstorm and they wanted to go in the basement-they flew down without touching the stairs..........it was back UP the cellar stairs they freaked at.....probably because the stairs were open in the back-what a time we'd have getting them out of the cellar.

BTW Linda, I LOVE that stained glass window behind him-it's so pretty.....

He's happy in that second photo though-out explorin' with Papa!

Thanks for my Mighty Max Monday smile :)

  2. LOL at Max standing on the steps. You would think he would be fearless. I have an attic, and the steps are very steep. Chase used to go up, and then he would have so much trouble coming down, I would have to hold his collar. Now he just stays on the second floor when I go up to the attic. Carol, Chase hides behind the couch during thunderstorms. He hates fireworks, and loud noises, tho his bark is enough to scare anyone trying to walk in front of the house. Dogs are so funny. Linda, Max is a beauty. Please give him a belly rub and a big hug from me. He must love going out with Gabe. Thanks for making my Monday start a good one....I just look forward to these Max Mondays.

    Hugs and barks

    1. Ohhhhhhh poor Chase-our dogs were terrified of both thunderstorms and fireworks too, Myra. One of them was about 50 pounds and the other was 90 pounds and they became LAP DOGS during them both.............they'd shake and shake. I felt so bad for them. Kayla-the 50 pounder-would pace the floor if we weren't sitting down and would open all my kitchen cabinets, knock stuff onto the floor from the lazy Susan cabinet, knock over anything on the laundry room floor like detergent bottles and that,...it was a circus...worse than having a house full of active toddlers! And I miss them every day. Oh-and these 2 dogs would TERRORIZE anyone that came to the door with their barking and carrying on.........

      Aren't they somethin'?

  3. Your dog's name was Kayla? My granddaughter's name is Kayla. Another friend of mine has a dog named Kayla also....What kind of dogs were they? Chase weighs about 80 pounds, thanks to my loving care. He is a boxer/pit mix and a BIG BABY. He doesn't bark outside the house, but let anyone come within 2 blocks of my house, get your earplugs out. The UPS man one day threw the package on the ground and jumped back into the truck. He used to tear apart everything when he was a puppy, but he outgrew that. Now he just tears apart the toys to get to the squeakers. They sure are Somethin'....

Linda, is Max going to be a year in 5 weeks, or is this when you got him? Chase will be 8 on July 20th.....

Carol, you must have had your hands full with them opening the kitchen cabinets..I can imagine how quiet your house is now.

I never had a dog in my life, and then I suddenly found myself agreeing to take in my son's dog, and now he is MINE !!!

    1. Yes indeed, Myra-we had Kayla-a lab/golden mix that was sort of a Brindle color-she was the 50 pounder then our daughter moved home for a while with a puppy a year younger than Kayla-a lab/German shepherd mix named Cody. She decided to move out again about 8 months after she moved home.....Bob said "You can go-leave the dog" because they'd gotten so attached to each other. Kayla used to get physically ill when we left her alone-once Cody arrived that stopped. So........Robin moved, Cody stayed, the rest was history.

I miss them both as well as the 2 that came before them. Every time there's a thunderstorm Bob and I always say "remember when"? Chaos would reign supreme until that last flash of lightning stopped.

Isn't it amazing how dogs come into our lives? I know you just love Chase and wonder what life was like without him there.....they are such wonderful company. We miss that a lot.........

    2. Yep Carol, it is amazing how the dogs come into our lives. When Chase came to live with us, little did I know how my life would be changing in the next 2 years. I am so happy that I had and have him in my life now. He is a very spoiled dog, but he does so much for me, that he deserves to be spoiled. I know some people think I am "a bit much" for doing all I do for him. I guess if my life hadn't changed so much, he would be just a dog, but he keeps me company and I don't know what I would do if he wasn't here. I love how your Bob said, "you can go, leave the dog". Would have loved to have seen your daughter's face. Chase is very attached to me, and barks when I leave the house, but he knows I will be back.

  4. Myra, Good Memory! Can you believe he will be a year? He's so different from the scared puppy we brought home. He's certainty a challenge!

You know I started this blog because I missed Rip and now it's become all about Max.

  5. This blog is a great reminder that we do go on when we lose our loved ones. Rip is still very much with you, and he is so proud that Max is with you..

    1. So beautifully said, Myra..........I agree, Rip is still with you Linda and smiling (and probably shaking his head!) at Max's antics. All of our dogs hold a special place that only they can in our hearts.
