Slow Cooked Sweet Potato Chili






28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
14 ounce can diced tomatoes ( used Hunts hot diced tomatoes)
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped into 1 inch pieces
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
15 ounce can kidney beans
15 ounce can black beans
1 pound ground sirloin (optional) ( Gabe added alligator to his and mine was just the vegetables) 

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in your crockpot and stir to mix well. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
This was a 5 star meal. Easy and we both enjoyed it

    2. Gregory sent Gabe the alligator for Christmas so he wanted to use it in something.We had it in Cedar Key and it was pretty good.

    5. Of course, I love the idea of using alligator in chili!
      I've never had chili with sweet potatoes and I like that this can easily be turned into a vegetarian dish. (yes, I know it's hard to believe I said that!)
